What is C1S Folding Box Board?

C1S Folding Box Board (also known as FBB, or Single-Side Coated White Cardboard in China) is a paperboard with a coated printing surface on one side and a smooth uncoated reverse side. It is one of the most common substrates for folding cartons, cards and light packaging in the world.

What does C1S mean?

C1S = Coated One Side. One side of the board receives a coating layer that gives a smooth, bright, ink-friendly surface for high-quality printing (offset, UV, foil stamping), while the reverse side stays uncoated — ideal for printing a single colour, writing on, or leaving plain.

What does FBB mean?

FBB = Folding Box Board. In the international paper grading system, FBB is a multi-ply board with a white coated top layer, suitable for creasing and folding into boxes and cartons. Chinese mills produce FBB in two common forms:
